WHO DIS?
Alright so making a very long and complicated story short these are
the very first vampires created. They are a family who all other vampires
descend from ( excluding the ones in the Supernatural world). Sam and Dean
have ZERO clue about them but the Original family knows all about the Men
of Letters and have been smart enough to evade their existence being known
by them therefore they want to keep it that way.
WEAKNESSES?
Original vampires can only be neutralized by taking a special silver dagger enchanted by the Witch of the Brotherhood of the Five that is dipped in the ash remains of the
original white oak tree and driving it through their hearts. However, Klaus is a hybrid,
and since silver daggers do not affect him (because werewolves heal when wounded by
silver), the only way to kill Klaus is with a stake carved from the white oak tree.
Broken Neck: Breaking an Original's neck will not kill them, but it will render them unconscious for several
minutes to several hours. Desiccation: Being completely drained of blood or the heart stopping
will cause an Original vampire to desiccate like any other vampire, losing most of it's strength
and any ability to move.
Magic: It is said that a witch with enough power can kill/dangerously
affect a being as powerful as an Original Vampire, but would likely kill the witch unless the
Original vampire was in a weakened state.Sunlight: Sunlight will burn an Original vampire,
but cannot kill them.
Vervain: Vervain prevents Original vampires from compelling anyone
who takes it and burns them on touch. Original vampires will heal very quickly from vervain
wounds however.
Werewolf Bite: While a werewolf bite can't kill Original vampires, it weakens
them and causes hallucinations. The effects are temporary and only lasts for a few hours.
This will not affect Klaus as he is a werewolf-vampire hybrid.
Wood: A wooden stake through
the heart will desiccate an Original vampire and the Original vampire will appear as if they
were dead, but will revive within a few hours.
STRENGTHS AND ABILITIES
Original Vampire's powers and abilities are the most advanced and by far superior to any other species. They are considerably stronger, faster and heal quicker than their Non-original counterparts. They are also more durable and can easily perform any other ability of non-original vampires, Originals can also occasionally have supernatural abilities uniquely available to them and no other vampire.
IN A NUTSHELL
Originals are the bigger bad. Anything normal vampires can do they can do better...and faster. They are mostly non-caring for humans or human life though they tend to have a very fierce family bond that can either propel or destroy.
